THE BRONX SHALL LEAD THE WAY

THE LAST WILL BECOME THE FIRST.

We're done with leaders who put us last. For generations, the Bronx has overcome systemic neglect to build New York’s New York. Now just imagine what we could do with a leader who puts the Bronx first.

My name is Jonathan Soto.

I’m a Puerto Rican interfaith leader, movement organizer, and public school parent running for New York State Assembly in District 82 because we are forging a movement to bring the Bronx what we so richly deserve.

I’ve spent my life in the service of communities like ours who have been left behind, developing programs that helped the Bronx recover from Superstorm Sandy, and bringing free one-on-one support to children and meals to Bronx families.

When the Bronx sent leaders like Jamaal Bowman and AOC to DC, we changed the country. And when we send our Bronx movement to Albany, we’ll change New York.

THE BRONX SHALL LEAD THE WAY

  • For Our Children

Bronx children deserve fully funded schools and youth programming that empowers them to be all that they dream. Run by the Bronx, for the Bronx.

  • For Our Homes

We should all live comfortably in our homes without fear of getting priced out. We will organize for real tenant protections and stop luxury developers from treating our community as an investment.

  • For Our Future

We will protect the air our children breathe, and the planet they live on. Creating local, green union jobs building publicly owned clean energy, and infrastructure to prevent floods.

The 82nd Assembly District is made up of the following neighborhoods: City Island, Co-op City, Country Club, Edgewater, Morris Park, Pelham Bay, Throggs neck, and Westchester Square
